ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS
Each year, with the help of many dedicated and energetic volunteers, your PTSO provides a wide array of support for the Huron community.  Here is a snapshot of our organization:
  • Academic grants to Huron teachers to cover the costs of classroom materials that enhance learning but are not covered by the district. See the complete list each year under Community Grants.
  • Communicating with parents, faculty and students via E-notes and other means such as the website.
  • Working with administrators to plan grade level meetings for parents in the spring and fall, keeping up to date with issues that arise in each class and helping plan student activities.
  • Operating Huron’s Spirit Shop, which sells spirit items for the Booster Club as well as healthier snacks and beverages daily during lunch.
  • Recruiting and organizing volunteers to collate the registration packets, facilitate the smooth running of registration in August, handle parent-teacher conference sign ups, provide refreshments for some events, chaperone dances and help with many other activities throughout the year.
  • Appreciation events for the Huron staff throughout the year, including fall and spring luncheons.
  • Beautifying the school environment with plantings and clean-up activities.
