Programs
What We Support
The Huron Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) provides a wide array of support for the Huron community, including the following activities and programs:
Academic grants to cover the costs of classroom materials that enhance learning but are not covered by the district.
Parent, faculty, and student communications via E-notes, website and other means.
Support informational meetings and conferences.
Remain up to date with school issues and help plan student activities.
Fund school improvements, including landscaping, clean-up activities and capital purchases.
Appreciation events for the Huron staff.
Daily operation of the Huron Spirit Shop during lunch. Selling spirit items for the Athletic Booster Club as well as healthy snacks and beverages. Profits from the store support PTSO teacher grants and the Athletic Booster Club.
Recruit and organize volunteers to facilitate the smooth running of registration, handle parent-teacher conference sign ups, chaperone dances and help with many other activities, such as Respect the Rat/Challenge Day.

ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS
Each year, with the help of many dedicated and energetic volunteers, your PTSO provides a wide array of support for the Huron community. Here is a snapshot of our organization:
Academic grants to Huron teachers to cover the costs of classroom materials that enhance learning but are not covered by the district. See the complete list each year under Community Grants.
Communicating with parents, faculty and students via E-notes and other means such as the website.
Working with administrators to plan grade level meetings for parents in the spring and fall, keeping up to date with issues that arise in each class and helping plan student activities.
Operating Huron’s Spirit Shop, which sells spirit items for the Booster Club as well as healthier snacks and beverages daily during lunch.
Recruiting and organizing volunteers to collate the registration packets, facilitate the smooth running of registration in August, handle parent-teacher conference sign ups, provide refreshments for some events, chaperone dances and help with many other activities throughout the year.
Appreciation events for the Huron staff throughout the year, including fall and spring luncheons.
Beautifying the school environment with plantings and clean-up activities.
