Information sent by Dr. Schwamb:
Dear Huron Families,
I would like to invite you to virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 28 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM, and on Tuesday, November 10 from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. It might not be necessary to speak with all of your child’s teachers. You may wish to conference with teachers where your student is experiencing difficulties, or where you have a particular question or concern. The conference times are individual ten minute opportunities. Teachers will be hosting their conferences virtually and will send you a Zoom link prior to the day of the conference. Please do not sign up for more than one-time slot per teacher. Below are the sign up links for the Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 28 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM, and Tuesday, November 10 from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM.

HAVE YOU JOINED THE HURON BOOSTER CLUB YET?
The Booster Club now has an easy way to join and pay online. Visit http://aahuronboosters.weebly.com/ today to complete two easy steps and you are a member.
Why should I get involved in Boosters?
All sports at Huron use the Booster Club services. The Booster Club is run by volunteers just like you. Without the Booster Club, coaches would have to process all of their own team fees, pay bank fees, and write their own checks. The Booster Club also provides concessions at sporting events and your membership dollars fund scholarships to scholar-athletes and are in part paid back to your team of choice. Boosters needs you and the sports need Boosters, so please get involved.
The Huron PTSO provides funding for various programs and we are actively trying to raise funds and reach our goal of $8,000 for the PTSO so we can support important programs at school such as The Emery, Huron's student run newspaper.
Due to the pandemic, many advertisers were unable to purchase advertising which helps defray costs to print each issue. Three students and Mrs. Badalamente presented the Huron PTSO with a grant proposal on September 15. The PTSO awarded The Emery with a grant of $700 to help pay for the costs associated with printing this month's edition. We would like to do more for our Huron students this year and we need your help.
We understand that some parents may not have received the mailing which was sent the week of September 7. Below are the links to Brochure and PTSO Dues Letter with a QR code so you can make your donation online or by mailing a check to Huron PTSO.
The good news is that thanks to the CARES Act, there is a new deduction for charitable donors who do not itemize when filing their tax returns. If you do not itemize but make a gift to charity such as the Huron PTSO, you will be allowed to take a special tax deduction, up to $300, to reduce your tax liability. Please consider making a contribution and help us help our students. Thank you!
Noodles and Co. Arborland located at 3601 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor will donate 25% of sales when Huron staff, students, and parents order online using a special code on November 9-12, 2020.
We are having a friendly competition between classes. The class that raises the most money on their designated day will receive half the proceeds for their class from the fundraiser.
It's simple to support the Huron High School PTSO, just pick your child’s class(es), download the attached flier and order online using the code found on the flier. That's it! You must order online and use the code in order for Huron to receive a donation.
