CONGRATULATIONS, HURON MEN'S BASKETBALL!
The River Rats rode an early 16-0 run to a 64-39 victory over Livonia Stevenson on Thursday, April 1, at Northville HS to clinch the program’s first Division 1 Regional Title since 2010. This alone is a tremendous feat by the Rats and Coach Samaha, but it didn’t end there.
The River Rats went on to defeat River Rouge in a playoff game on April 6, remaining undefeated and with 19 wins. On Thursday, April 8, the Rats continued their streak, beating Warren’s La Salle Collegiate in the State Semi Final game that was held at the Breslin Center on Michigan State’s Campus in East Lansing.   That’s a 20-0 record for the season, and the first Division 1 Regional Title in 11 years.

Huron will play for the State Championship tomorrow, April 10, at 12:30 p.m. against the Grand Blanc Bobcats. The championship game will be held at the Breslin Center.   Go, Rats!

RE: Graduation

Parent, Class of 2021, Update - Friday, March 19, 2021

Hello, Parents of the Class of 2021,
I hope that you are well today and am reaching out with a clarification on recent communication.
Last week, in our desire to support our students and parents, we shared an update of our commitment and ongoing work related to clarifying the details of June graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 at Huron, Pioneer and Skyline.
To clarify, while recent adjustments to MDHHS participation guidance are encouraging, at this time the participation limits for ceremonies in June are not yet established.
In sharing our information, we were updating our parents to reassure all of our ongoing commitment and work. It  was not our intention to confirm details ahead of a formal confirmation with EMU, which will naturally come a little later, dependent on the public health guidelines. We regret any confusion this caused for our EMU partners.
For all those who have emailed to request additional information such as how many guests may be allowed per graduate, please note that it is not possible to understand the details of public health requirements this far in advance.
We will continue to explore all options available, to work diligently in partnership with EMU events staff as well as monitor updates to MDHHS guidance regarding public gatherings.
Our families can expect additional updates on our work as information becomes available. When the details are formally confirmed with EMU, we will issue an AAPS district announcement so that all are clear on the confirmed information.
We are all looking forward to honoring and celebrating the students of the Class of 2021, and we commit to remain in close contact with our parents on this issue as we understand the significance of commencement ceremonies for our students, families and for the AAPS community.

Sincerely,
Jeanice Swift
